Pipers gather at Hunter’s Bog on Arthur’s Seat in Queen’s Park, Edinburgh, before performing the ceremony of “Beating the Retreat” on 17 August 2003.Beating Retreat is a ceremony which dates from the 16th century and was first used to recall nearby patrolling units to their castle.
In 2012 we kilted Roger Levesque (Seattle Sounders FC) and John Moffitt (Seattle Seahawks) to help them raise money for the Seattle Ronald McDonald House and those families that call it home.
These two men, as well as others, don their kilts again and compete for “King of the Kilt” while raising money for the RMH.
